日本タイポグラフィ年鑑2020にて日本酒パッケージ「天明」が審査員賞を杉崎真之助さんからいただきました。この「天明」はサブタイトル「MITSUGO」とし、3本シリーズのお酒です。3つは、精米率がことなっており、一般的には、磨けば磨くほど上質なお酒になるという常識とは真逆の発想から生まれた低精米酒です。農家さんが手塩にかけて作ったお米をできるだけまるまる楽しみたいというコンセプトのお酒です。
ラベルデザインは素材そのもの、全てを大事に大切にという思考をもとに
天明の「天」をモチーフに酒の雫をイメージ。普通の印刷ラベルではなく、穴があくことによって天明の透明感、爽やかさを出し、透き通るように見せています。お酒を飲むときに穴あきのラベルであれば楽しさもあり、穴のあいたラベルから見える景色が天明の歴史とリンクします。

I received a jury prize from Shinnosuke Sugisaki at the Japan Typography Yearbook 2020. The award-winning work is the sake package “Tenmei”. This “Tenmei” is a subtitle “MITSUGO” and is a three-series sake. The third is a low-milled rice brewed from the idea that it is the opposite of the common sense that the more polished you are, the higher the quality of sake. This is a sake with the concept that you want to enjoy as much as possible the rice that the farmer made with all your heart.
This is sake that is made based on the idea that the material itself, everything is important.I imagined a bottle of sake with the motif of the kanji character “Ten”. This is not an ordinary print label. There is a hole in the label.The hole is open, and it shows the clarity and freshness of this liquor, making it appear transparent.
When everyone drinks, it is fun if it is a perforated label, and the view seen from the perforated label is linked to the history of Tenmei.
