9月16日から中国杭州へ中国国際ポスタービエンナーレの国際審査員として行ってきました。中国へ行くのは今回が初めてだったのですが、想像以上に中国の現状がすごくていろいろな事に驚かされました。
このコンペティションは中国最大規模の世界ポスターコンペティションで中国美術学院で行われました、大学の広さにまず驚かされました。敷地内にいくつもの斬新なデザインの建築物。隈研吾が設計した中国美術学院民芸博物館もありました。
今回のビエンナーレにはシリーズ作品と単品で2700出品されており総合計すると約3000点の出品があったと思います、一次審査が事前に行われ120枚までに絞られていました。杭州2日目、朝から賞を決めるため審査が行われました。今回の審査員は 中国のBIさんZHAOさん、ドイツのGötzさん 、スイスのCybuさん、日本からは対馬肇の合計5名でした。中国語、日本語、英語、ドイツ語が飛び交いながら、言語の壁はなかなか難しいものがありましたが、デザインをみる上で国境はないので、大変でしたがおもしろかったです。英語がしゃべれたらな〜とつくづく感じました。なんどもなんども内容を確認し現物と照らし合わせ細部の印刷へのこだわり作り込みなど審査検討しつづけました。
3日目は、オープニングセレモニーと、レクチャー、フォーラムでした。400人くらい収容するホールが満席で中国の学生はとても熱心に聞いてくださり、講義（講演）もなんとか無事終了しました。
最後の夜はみなさんとの晩餐を楽しみ、短い時間でしたがとても良い時間を過ごさせていただきました。いろいろなことを学ぶことができ自分も奮起させていただきました。中国国際ポスタービエンナーレの関係者の皆様に感謝いたします。ありがとうございました。また杭州の中国美術学院に行く事がありそうです。

Since September 16, I have been to Hangzhou, China as an international judge for the China International Poster Biennale. I went to China for the first time. I was surprised by the fact that China is so much more than I imagined.This competition was held at the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts at China’s largest world poster competition. I was surprised by the size of the university. I was able to see a number of innovatively designed buildings on the premises. There was also the Chinese Art Academy Folk Art Museum designed by Kengo Kuma. In this biennale, 2600 items were exhibited as series and single items, and in total, I think there were about 3000 items. 120 sheets were selected after screening in advance. On the second day of Hangzhou, a screening was conducted to determine the award from the morning. The judges were 2 Chinese, German, Swiss and Japanese totaling 5 people. The language barrier was quite difficult while Chinese, Japanese and English were mixed, but it was difficult but interesting because there were no borders when looking at the design. I felt like I could speak English. The third day was the opening ceremony, lecture and forum. The hall with a capacity of about 400 people is full and Chinese students listened very enthusiastically and the lecture was successfully completed. On the last night, we enjoyed a dinner with the staff and the judges, and we had a very good time. I was able to learn many things and I was inspired.
